Favourite Autumn Lipsticks

I can't believe we are in the second week of September already! This means that autumn is around the corner which means all the darker shades make an appearance, including my darker lipsticks too. 

With my dark features, I suit darker lipsticks really well, I'm so glad of this because they are my favourite to wear, I do wear these on summer evenings because I just can't limit them to half a year!

Sleek - Exxxagerate

I love the colour of this but its just so hard to get on and make a full opaque colour with it so I like to mix it with a clear gloss to make it a smoother application. I like how this is a matte finish because I can keep it matte or make it in a shinier finish. 

Nyx - Medusa

This was actually the first dark lipstick I bought and I'm still in love with it, its like a shimmery dark purple but without glitter. (does that make sense??) Absolutely gorgeous colour. it feels really creamy when you put it on, I've never actually had to use a lipliner with this because theres no need to use one!

Mac - Hang up

This is a cremesheen lipstick which means it has shine, I really like this as it doesn't make my lips look dry like some dark colours like this do. This is a really deep berry colour, I love it! It's really creamy and feels great. I do have to use a lipliner with this because I find it does feather quite easily. 

Maybelline - Berry much

This is very similar to Hang Up but it has a darker wine base to it. The application for this is so easy — its just like using a really creamy lipliner. I have found this to last 5 hours without any touch ups needed, it really stains your lips and its murder to get off!

Esteé Lauder Foundation Review...

Estée Lauder Foundation

As seen in my beauty haul (read here), I recently bought the Estée Lauder double wear foundation from Cheshire oaks after seeing great reviews about it all over the internet and from my friends too. I got the shade Pebble and I was so happy that this shade was in stock at the discount store because it matches me perfectly. The foundation is originally £30, however I got mine for £20.75.

This is the standard 30 ml and is presented in a glass bottle which makes it look more expensive than it actually is. Even though the foundation doesn't actually have a pump, it is still very easy to use. I usually shake the bottle before I use it, to make sure all the product is together, then  I just pour the foundation directly onto my brush then apply to my face in small amounts. I prefer to use an angled round top face brush for this specific foundation. 

The foundation isn't very runny and it isn't thick either, the consistency is very nice and it feels great on the skin. It feels very lightweight and it makes my skin look flawless. Literally, when this is on, I look like I have been photoshopped with amazing skin.

This product is suitable for all skin types: I have normal to dry skin and it makes my skin look healthy and it doesn't make it shiny or greasy throughout the day at all. The foundation is very easy to build up and it always look even, despite the thickness in different places of your face and it doesn't look cakey. The shade I purchased is 3C2 Pebble, I got this shade because I have olive skin; therefore I am yellow/brown based and the 'C' means cool. 

The finish is semi-matte meaning it doesn't look shiny or completely matte, maintaining the skins natural finish. The coverage is absolutely amazing! It covers everything; black circles, uneven skin colour, blemishes, scars…EVERYTHING. The foundation is extremely long wearing: I can apply it at 7am and it will still look perfect at 1am. I tend to use this foundation for more special events or important occasions as I personally thin its too expensive to be using everyday. For me, it’s definitely the best foundation I have ever used.

L'oreal True Match Foundation Review...

Since my Rimmel: Wake Me Up Foundation (review) ran out I decided to purchase an alternative as I wasn't a huge fan of it because of the results throughout the day. From this I was on the hunt for a new everyday foundation, after watching Lauren Curtis rave on about it I decided I would give it a try.

I got this foundation from Superdrug since they had a 2 for £12 offer on (gotta take up these special offers) usually this foundation would be £9.99 from Superdrug . Despite it being a drugstore foundation I think this is quite expensive for this brand.

This foundation is in a glass bottle with a pump too making it easy to withdraw the liquid. I like the amount it gives out in one pump because I can usually do half of my face with this or a sheer full face. I then like to use smaller pumps directly onto my brush to then focus on certain areas. For this foundation I like to use a flat top kabuki foundation brush.

The consistency of this foundation is quite thin and runny. It feels very lightweight too, however, when built up on the skin it can look cakey and chunky especially around the nose area. This is a big problem for me and for anyone really because it's not a very even layer.

I have normal to dry skin, but, throughout the day my T-zone will go very shiny when I wear this which doesn't happen with my other foundations. This usually happens after four hours of wearing it. To try to stop this I've tried applying primers in them areas and it still happens but just a while after. After testing this in store and also doing the online test on the L'oreal website I found my 'perfect' match. The website suggested I would be rose vanilla and I instantly thought something wasn't right as it had the word rose in it suggesting a pink undertone. But I went with it anyway to try it. When I apply it to my face it does has a pink undertone that certainly doesn't match me. I balance this out by using a yellow powder by model prefer.

When dry, the finish is really nice though, it has a nice natural glow. Parts of my face did go very patchy throughout the day, especially around my jaw, nose and mouth. I also noticed my skin looked very greasy on my forehead and nose, this never usually happens to me with my other foundations and I had to touch it up using some powder which is also something I never have to do. 

I do not think ill be repurchasing this when I have run out because it's not made a great impression on me but I will continue using it until it has run out so I can see if there are any changes.

Mini drugstore haul!

So yesterday I went shopping in Manchester and I bought a few little items I've been meaning to try for quite a while. I spent just under £30 on all these products. I will link all the products that are available online. 

First off is a product I've been wanting to try for absolutely ages! I've seen lots of reviews on this product and I thought i’d have to try it for myself. The ‘Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water’ I got this for £4.99 from Superdrug. I love the packaging, it looks so nice and bright. I thought i’d try this out as soon as I got home so I squirted a little bit onto a cotton pad and it wiped off my makeup completely really quickly without rubbing too hard. When this runs out this will definitely be another purchase!

next up is the Tecnic Illuminating Face Primer from Body Care for £4.95. this is like a dupe of Benefit’s “that gal” brightening face primer. i tested this out on my hand when i got home; it comes out like an off-white product with a shimmery kind of glow. i applied it onto my hand and it was so soft and it had a lovely natural glow with it. i don't know how long it lasts under makeup but i will do a first impression on it very soon with some other products.

this product is a repurchase as i love love love it! i did a product review which you can look at HERE. i bought this because my old one had run out and i got this in true ivory for £5.49

I also got these two gorgeous colours from Barry M. the gelly one is called Prickly Pear 428 and the matte one is called Malibu 420.  Both £3.99 This is the first time I've tried the gelly products by Barry M and obviously I had to try it as soon as I got home. The colour is like a pastel lilac and it is super shiny — I haven't even added any top coat. 

I've wanted to try and dark coloured lipstick for the autumn/winter and for a pound i thought why not? this colour is called wild berry from superdrug. when i applied the lipstick it's not that pigmented but i went over it a couple of times and it turned into a deeper berry colour. i was reading the reviews on the superdrug website when someone commented about the little screw part on the bottom. its for when you want to apply the lipstick with a lip brush. 

this is just an eyeshadow definer or a gel eyeliner brush I've been wanting one of these to try a smokier eyeliner with black eyeshadow to have a more natural look. this was from Body Care for £1.49

Now moving on to one of my favouriteeee shops: lush! Every time I walk in there its like I'm in a whole new world! Everything just smells great! i wasn't looking for any specific i just bought some bath bombs that smelt delightful! 

I got the fizzbanger which apparently has popping candy in it then i also bought the Dragon’s egg which apparently has different layers of colours. both smell absolutely gorgeous and they both have really powerful smells. i can't wait to use them, I will do a review on both of them after i have used them.

I then bought this little Charity Pot hand and body lotion for £1 which is given to charity. It smells gorgeous and a little bit does go a long way!
