Lighten Up: Summer Sleep Essentials

In collaboration with Parachute I am going to share my 4 favourite ways to "lighten up" your room in the warmer months. I have found that even though the weather has been poor here in England, it has been quite humid at night meaning its been impossible to sleep in without waking up a thousand times.

This is going to be one of the most helpful options as, if youre like me and you can't get to sleep without something on you, you'll still feel cooler as the duvet will be thinner. This lightweight duvet is one of the best ones because you can still snuggle up to the duvet without dying of heat.

Clip on Fan
Clip on fans are a must for me, I attach this fan from Dunelm to the top of my bed frame and point the fan down on my head, this cools my head and face down dramatically as I have very thick hair. This fan is so quiet so it doesn't keep me awake at night with loud humming sounds.

This may not be a 'lighten up' in sense of making your room lighter but you are lighting a candle, same thing? Lighting a candle a few hours before you go to sleep will give you room a full scent, lavender is the best scent for you to go to sleep easily.
(always make sure a candle has been blown out fully before going to sleep to avoid any accidents)

Letting natural air into your room will cool you down throughout the night and also keep your room fresh. When the temperatures drop in the middle of the night you will really feel the benefit of opening your windows. However, if you live on a main road/busy street maybe this isn't the best idea as you will hear the morning traffic if you want to lie in.

have you got any tips on how to keep your room cool throughout the warm weather? let me know in the comments!
